Your social media and your restorative justice elevator speeches should vary.

Lets start with social medai:
You can connect Facebook and Twitter, so your tweets are your Facebook.  I did that for awhile, but felt I had two purposes for each.  Facebook, is me, it had to be I got deactivated last fall, for acting too much like a business.  I wish I did better with the [...]

Using Talking Circles to promote social justice.

At UWRF Restorative Justice is being used to address Social Justice issues.  Specifically talking circles, to promote discussion and inspire action.  The four phases of the Circle will work well for this.
Our final phase of Circle is ‘Taking Action’ and action promotes social justice.
This began back when I connected with campus activities and student services staff [...]

Restorative Justice needed for some Twitter perspective, my idea at being social media restorative justice queen.

Okay, I’m feeling silly.  My silly moods aren’t very mature.  I am also feeling pretty open right now.  Willing to explain something I have found funny.  It also lends to the context of sharing openly.  I found someone with worse boundaries than mine, when it comes to posting.  Remember my friend “I write it in [...]

Blog changes – less is more!

I believe we  have learning curves, learning cliffs and learning stairs.  Life is the wonderful menagarie of all three.  Sometimes we are completely aware and other times life gives us random lessons.
I did a google image search for stairs and found this interesting graphic to use.  Here is how I believe learning ’stairs’ works.

My attempt at “batch” blogging. I didn’t feel restorative.

I tried a new time mangement technique – relative to blogging.  I learned about it reading Problogger, it’s called ‘Batch Blogging’.  I wrote 6 posts on Sunday and had one scheduled to publish for each day of the week.  So then during the week (in theory) I wouldn’t have to take time blogging.
Here’s what happened.  [...]

Social Media is helping Restorative Justice . . .

Social Media like Restorative Justice – is a broad term.
I have developed a real facination for the interplay of Social Media and Restorative Justice.
When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direct, and you find yourself in a [...]

Twittering helps my blog readership!

I started Twittering, recently . . . you can follow me there http://twitter.com/home.
In Twitter ‘following ‘ someone is like making a ‘friend’ in Facebook.  All you have is a very small profile page and you have 140 characters to use and read from others.
I’m very, very new at this . . . so let me [...]

A dose of my own medicine, it’s very bitter!

So I post about my case of ‘hives‘.  I make the point it’s like Restorative Justice, not about ‘why’ but what to do now.  You see most harm is generated from a mistake.  Restorative Justice gives you another chance, to do the right thing.  You get an other opportunity to not make another mistake, and [...]

How dealing with ‘hives’ is restorative and social media it catchy!

Blogging gives readers a really unique opportunity to learn about the “blogger”.  Once you start blogging, you see topics everywhere, or at least I have.  Just like I see “restorative justice” everywhere.
Now I am seeing ‘Social Media’ everywhere . . . last night on the evening news (must have been a slow news night), they [...]
